LA VIA LANCIA

Intitolare  alla  memoria di Vincenzo  Lancia  il tratto della strada provinciale della Val   Mastallone  da  Varallo  a Fobello rappresenta un riconoscimento dovuto alla figura di questo Valsesiano che tanto ha dato al nostro territorio in termini di fama e  di  aiuto  concreto. Proviamo  a percorrere  questo cammino con il sapore di un tempo.

La  Valsesia,  la   Val  Mastallone  e  Vincenzo   Lancia costituiscono   un   legame indissolubile  nel  tempo. Un legame forte nei confronti della gente della Sua valle che oggi più che  mai  è  orgogliosa di aver dato alla luce un Figlio così importante, trasferendogli i  valori  della  gente di montagna,  la tenacia, l'ingegno, la modestia e la signorilità innata. E' bello  immaginare Censin  con  lo  sguardo  rivolto verso Sabbia prima di giungere a Cravagliana.

A Fobello, con  a  fianco  Rimella  e  Cervatto, questa via a lui dedicata finisce, ma la  leggenda  di   Vincenzo   Lancia è   più  viva   che   mai.  La  figura  del  Grande Valsesiano si   rispecchia  nelle  numerose   opere  che  lo   hanno visto  munifico benefattore.  Vincenzo  Lancia  è  e  resterà un uomo  di  successo e di genio, figlio della Val Mastallone, che qui ha cercato il riposo. Per sempre.

The Mastallone  Valley  provincial  road from Varallo to Fobello has been named in memory of Vincenzo Lancia, in recognition of the  debt owed to this Valsesian who gave so much to the  area  both  in fame and tangible help. Let us make this journey  savouring it as he may have done then.

Valsesia, the  Mastallone Valley and Vincenzo Lancia constitute an indissoluble link through time,  and  a profound  link  with the  people of his valley who are as proud today as they ever were  of  having  brought  such an important child into the world, inculcating  him  with the  values  of the mountain  peoples, their tenacity, modesty and distinction. It  is  easy  to  imagine  Censin gazing up towards Sabbia before he reaches Cravagliana.

The  road dedicated to Vincenzo Lancia finishes here at Fobello, flanked by Rimella and  Cervatto, but the legend of the man lives on. It  is ever present in the numerous good  works  of  this   Great Valsesian and generous benefactor. Vincenzo Lancia is and will forever  remain  a man  of   substance and  genius, a son of the Mastallone, who wished his resting place to be here. For ever.
